Ibn
Jeremiah Ibn Abdullah, born and raised on the south side of Chicago, IL. Ibn is widely known for his outstanding music, and at 18 years old, Ibn has high expectations on pursuing his dream. Inspired by artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Eminem and Kanye West, Ibn is determined to make his way towards fame by doing what he does best; write music. Ever since he was younger, Ibn has been writing mesmerizing lyrics that even his friends envied. He attempted to be apart of a group, which consisted of him and two of his friends who were also dreaming of becoming successful rap artists. However, when the group fell apart, Ibn decided to go solo and finish his pursuit in music. Ibn is now releasing his first Mixtape "Me Soon". This highly anticipated Mixtape will consist of 14 of Ibn's most recent popular songs, including his singles 'Me Soon' , 'Circles' and 'Breaking Out'. “Me Soon” is the story of a teen coming-of-age. Every song is relative to life itself, which often sets Ibn apart from other artists. There are stories about relationships, aspirations, failures, triumphs, friends, family, and so on. Throughout “Me Soon”, these stories are told through creative lyricism and magnificent diction. Another aspect that isolates Ibn is his extended metaphors, as in the song, “Harriet Tubman”. In the song, he encourages listeners to free themselves comparing self freedom in a mental sense to Harriet's physical voyage to escape enslavement. All in all, Ibn along with his Mixtape, brings a new aspect to hip-hop. Not only are they creative, they are innovative and one-of-a-kind. This Mixtape is a great listen and it is sure to attract a larger fan base for this talented kid.
