Meet Atlanta Wildman ManMan Savage
I've never seen a rapper with as much leftover energy after an all-day press run as ManMan Savage. Considering his high-intensity brand of street music -- the heavy metal aggression of last year's "Takin Shots," quite possibly the heaviest tune ever released on the eclectic Brooklyn label Fool's Gold -- this shouldn't have been surprising. In person, ManMan is all smiles, though the Savage persona he takes on in the studio was brewing below the surface throughout our interview.
Freddie Gibbs Announces "Shadow Of A Doubt" Tour Dates
Freddie Gibbs dropped off a new record this afternoon, "Money, Cash, Hoes" (so money x2, basically) produced by Beat Bully. That's not all the goodies Gibbs has for his fans today, he's announced a bunch of new tour dates for a "Shadow of a Doubt" tour that kicks off in March.
Curren$y's Top 5 Mixtapes
New Orleans native Curren$y might be part cyborg. Either that or they’re putting something in the weed down there, because the man is prolific in a way that few other artist can achieve and still retain top quality.
Staff Picks Playlist (January 15)
This week, as you probably noticed, the VERY HOTTTTTs were killing it, and no, we weren't just in a giving mood, there was just a lot of fire music dropping. Not only that, the songs lists were phenomenally long each day (who peeped our Snapchat?). All this to say, everyone should have a song they were fucking with this past week.
Freddie Gibbs May Be Going After Isaiah Rashad
Freddie Gibbs made headlines recently for stating in an interview that he considers himself on the same level as artists like J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar. Whether or not you agree with him, Reddit user SaucyMustard has pointed out that Gangsta Gibbs may be subtly calling out TDE artist Isaiah Rashad in an Instagram post this morning.
Freddie Gibbs Says He's On Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole's Level
In December Freddie Gibbs put out Shadow of a Doubt. It was a sonic departure from Piñata, his previous record with Madlib, but familiar to anyone who had followed Gangsta Gibbs from before that acclaimed 2014 album. In December 2015, he sat down with NPR’s “Microphone Check” for a long, in-depth interview.
A Conversation With Freddie Gibbs: Rap's "Silent Killer" On Embracing Melody & Honoring Gucci Mane
Things haven't always looked this clear for Freddie Gibbs. The Gary, Indiana rapper could have ended his career as another major label casualty, stuck in a deal that didn't have his best interests in mind. After failed stints with Interscope and Jeezy's CTE World, Gibbs set his sights on the independent route, allowing him the freedom to give his loyal fanbase new music how and when he wanted.
Review: Freddie Gibbs' "Shadow Of A Doubt"
At this point, there's a version of Freddie Gibbs for every breed of hip hop fan. Old head? Try midwestgangstaboxframecadillacmuzik, the 2009 outing where he pays homage to icons like Outkast and Tupac. Mid-2000s street rap addict? Gibbs' stint with Jeezy's CTE label checks that box, especially on the album ESGN. Drill fanatic? Try "Deuces," a gem of a Young Chop-produced loosie. Backpacker who always keeps a dimebag within reach?
Staff Picks Playlist (November 20)
Today has been very heavy on the album release side, as you've probably noticed by the almost insurmountable number of streams we've posted thus far (and there are more to come). In between this week's long list of new releases, as well as last week's, your iTunes should be busy for a while. That's not even mentioning the mixtapes that'll drop on Thanksgiving Day next week-- Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent.
Listen To Freddie Gibbs’ New Album “Shadow Of A Doubt”
In similar fashion as Jadakiss & ILovemakonnen, Freddie Gibbs also released a new retail project today called Shadow Of A Doubt, which is available now on iTunes.

Freddie Gibbs Previews New Gucci Mane Collab, Says New Album "On The Way"
Freddie Gibbs shared a brief preview of an upcoming collab with Gucci Mane on Instagram this morning. Gibbs captions the vid: "Bumpin that new Gucci X Gangsta Gibbs." It's everything you would expect to hear from such a collab, which is to say that it bangs, even though its just a 15-second clip with the audio coming through Gibbs' phone speakers.
Hip-Hop Reacts To The Death Of Freddie Gray & Baltimore Riots
On April 12, 25-year-old Freddie Gray was arrested in Baltimore for possession of a switchblade, though it's still not clear why he was pursued in the first place. Police claim Gray was apprehended without force, though bystanders have suggested otherwise, and video evidence shows Gray screaming while being forced into the police's van. Stream The Alchemist & Oh No's "Welcome To Los Santos" Featuring Ab-Soul, Freddie Gibbs, A$AP Ferg & More
The Alchemist and Oh No are tow of the most skilled samplers in the game, so when they come together as Gangrene, it's truly something special. The two beatmakers were tapped to score Grand Theft Auto V a few years back, and while they created plenty of amazing music to soundtrack the game's chaotic universe, they've decided to revisit the fictional city on their new album, Welcome To Los Santos.
Behind The Beat: Salva
Last year, L.A.-based producer Salva became a household name in hip-hop circles by scoring collabs with a diverse list of artists that included Schoolboy Q, Young Thug, Freddie Gibbs, A$AP Ferg, Kurupt, Problem and E-40. With his all-over-the-place Peacemaker tape and its "Old English" single, the beatmaker gained himself a much larger following in the rap world, and so we had to hit him up to be featured on "Behind The Beat."
Freddie Gibbs Is Engaged
Freddie Gibbs, the finest human being to come out of Gary, IN since Michael Jackson, is getting married. He took to Instagram last night to announce his engagement to his girlfriend, with whom he is expecting a baby girl. When he popped the question she apparently responded, "hell yeah nigga." Clearly she is the one for Gangsta Gibbs.
