Raised in Jamaica Queens, New York, Jacob Afolabi currently lives in London, UK, recording and producing tracks and music videos. Fond of cartoons and hip hop, Afolabi uses his love of visual and creative arts to recreate lyrical experiences that transcend generations. His tenacity in the music industry is a force to be reckoned with- he started out as a rapper at 14 battle rapping and writing poetry; he recently released his D.U.I. EP, an 11-song project produced mostly by London-based producer, Smoking Indoors. His work is his play-spending his days and nights writing and performing music and watching music videos. The new generation of hip hop, at least for Afolabi, has produced a well-rounded intellectual, with a B.A. in English and an M.B.A., he doesn't just ride the conscious tip, contrary to what people may believe.
