    Last year, L.A.-based producer Salva became a household name in hip-hop circles by scoring collabs with a diverse list of artists that included Schoolboy Q, Young Thug, Freddie Gibbs, A$AP Ferg, Kurupt, Problem and E-40. With his all-over-the-place Peacemaker tape and its "Old English" single, the beatmaker gained himself a much larger following in the rap world, and so we had to hit him up to be featured on "Behind The Beat."

    E-40 is still a relevant rapper in 2015, but is everyone aware of this dude's tenure in the game? The 47-year-old rapper has been crushing it since 1990 with his flamboyant style of rapping. He stayed in the underground until about 1995 when his album In A Major Way was released. Slowly, people started catching on to the west coast sound, where a quirky style of funky raps were taking over.

    Ah, what could've been. The most recent discovered treasure penned by Tupac Shakur is a letter to his friend Big Lock. Unfortunately, there's no date on the letter, but in it, Pac tells Lock that his record sold five million copies, so it's safe to assume he means All Eyez On Me, which was released February 1996. He would be killed in September of the same year.

    G-Eazy won big this year with his album These Things Happen, and now he's taking his show on the road in a 31-date tour called "From The Bay To The Universe." Accompanied by E-40, IAMSU! and Jay Ant, the rapper, toted as "USA Today's Hottest College Ticket" in his press release, will being the tour on October 21st in Sacramento, CA.

     In the wee hours of the morning, E-40 announced on his instagram and his twitter that he plans to drop a grand total of 4 albums simultaneously this July, on the fifteenth. These albums compose what Bay Area Ambassador refers to as “Sharp On All 4 Corners," - a massive quadruple album project that will be sectored into four parts named Corners 1,2,3 and 4, respectively.

    E-40 hasn't been satisfied with dropping only one album a year for a while now. He's released a whopping 7 full-length albums in the last two years (9 if you count his two collaborative projects with Too Short). Thus it was strange that 2013 nearly passed by with no new projects from the Bay Area legend, but 40 has set things straight with 3 new volumes of his Block Brochure series, which all drop December 10th.

    Today the artists were announced for the West Coast Fest Tour, and it's an OG affair. E-40, DJ Quik, Mack 10, Dogg Pound, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Warren G, Suga Free and Baby Bash have all been tapped for the upcoming tour. The West Coast Fest Tour kicks off on June 28th in Fresno, CA and after several dates through out July, the tour wraps up on September 21st in Indio, CA.
