The week before Labor Day brought us some nice late summer treats in the form of Travis Scott's Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight, Isaiah Rashad's The Sun's Tirade, and Fabolous' Summertime Shootout 2. Of those, Scott's album was definitely the most feverishly anticipated, thanks to some delays as well as his substantial fanbase, and that popularity shows in this week's edition of Top Tracks. Scott leads the pack with three appearances, but oddly enough, none as a lead artist.

DJ Khaled Endorses Hillary Clinton, Says He's "Starstruck" By Beyonce
DJ Khaled has been defying the forces of "THEY" more than ever in 2016; becoming a SnapChat superstar, putting out the best album of his career, and going on a stadium tour with Beyonce. This week, he added another accomplishment to that list, scoring an interview with Katie Couric in which he discussed his recent blessings, as well as the outlook on life that has gained him so much attention.

Jordan Brand might have something planned to honor NBA broadcast legend, Craig Sager, or maybe this insane pair of Air Jordan 1s will remain an exclusive but they're dope nonetheless. Last week was a funny one for album delays. On one hand, Frank Ocean delivered not only his first, but also his second album since 2012's Channel Orange, but on the other, we didn't get the projects that we'd been expecting from French Montana, Young Thug, and Travis Scott.

In terms of the calendar, summer is winding down, but someone forgot to tell that to the rap game. We've only seen things heat up in the past week, with SremmLife 2 providing more than enough turn up fuel for the next few weeks, and P3 reminding us to squeeze every last bit of fun out of summer flings before cuffing season arrives.
Charts Don't Lie: August 10
DJ Khaled has plenty of reason to celebrate this week. Khaled earned his first #1 debut with his ninth studio album Major Key-- obviously all that Snapchatting paid off. The record rides high on collaborations with everyone from Jay Z to YG, Kendrick Lamar to Future, although Khaled probably has more than enough star power by himself at this point. Drake follows right behind him with VIEWS, a record that has spent most of the summer at #1.
Top Tracks: August 1 - August 7
The next two weeks will see new albums from two guys vying to be the third most popular rap/R&B artist out of Toronto, PartyNextDoor and Tory Lanez (Drake and The Weeknd are one and two, respectively). Only time will tell how P3 and I Told You will stack up against each other, but over the last few weeks, we've gotten a few previews in the form of singles and other assorted loosies. Both Party and Tory pop up in our Top Ten, although here it's obvious which one is dominant.
DJ Khaled Dethrones Drake & Gets First No. 1 With "Major Key"
Drake's VIEWS will relinquish the No. 1 spot on the albums chart for a second time since its release at the end of April. Taking the crown on the latest Sales Plus Streaming chart is DJ Khaled's Major Key, which moved 96,000 equivalent album units in its first week, reports HDD. After earning its 12th non-consecutive week at No. 1, VIEWS is back to No.
DJ Khaled's "Major Key" (Review)
When reviewing DJ Khaled's last album, I Changed A Lot, a mere nine months ago, I wondered how much longer the We The Best titan could keep up his album formula of "bright, of-the-moment beats, song titles that could double as all-caps Instagram captions and featured artist pairings that are awards show-level weird." The rap game Oprah ("You get a verse, you get a verse, here's a hook for you!") has, for the past decad

It's officially August, which means there's pretty much only one month of summer left. It's been a busy season for hip hop, as usual, with big projects from top-tier talents like Chance The Rapper, YG, ScHoolboy Q, and Gucci Mane dropping left and right, and plenty of additional tracks hitting the web as well. That being said, August is poised to be huge.

DJ Khaled & Tony Robbins Cover Complex
Complex's latest issues features Snapchat enthusiast and all-around key holder DJ Khaled, alongside motivational speaker and self-help author Tony Robbins. It's quite the pairing, but as Complex explains it, they both provide "major keys" for their fans, just in different ways. Khaled of course is in heavy promotion mode for his forthcoming album, Major Key, while Robbins recently starred in a Netflix documentary titled "Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru." Their joint story finds them going back and forth in between interjections from writer Mary H. Choi.
