Top Tracks: November 28 - December 4
Easily the biggest story of this past week was the announcement of J. Cole's new album, 4 Your Eyez Only, the release of a "making of" documentary, and the ensuing drama. The doc contained videos for two new tracks, "False Prophets" and "Everybody Dies," which have been construed to contain disses of Kanye West and Lil Yachty, respectively. A J.

Since debuting last year, Drake's OVO Sound Radio installation on Apple's Beats 1 has proven a huge force in debuting music by already-established stars as well as breaking new talent like Kodak Black, dvsn, and WizKid. Obviously, it's an engine that's benefitted its creator the most, creating huge events out of the debuts of What A Time To Be Alive, "Summer Sixteen," and VIEWS, but the 6 God has spread the love too.
DJ Khaled's "Major Key" Goes Gold
Announced on Instagram, DJ Khaled's "Major Key" LP has gone gold. Celebrating the achievement online yesterday, the Snapchat king took to IG with the following caption: "Major [Key] album gold! On it's way to being platinum ... Also officially working on new music! New album alert in the works! @wethebestmusic @epicrecords @rocnation ... Fanluv I'm up to something!"
Drake May Have Fired Shots At Kanye West On Instagram
Drake is all about the beef these days, although it's unclear which one follows the other. Presumably in response to Kanye's rant where he name dropped both Drizzy and DJ Khaled for conspiring with radio to make "For Free" an enormous hit, Drake took an opportunity to fire multiple passive aggressive
Top Tracks: November 14 - November 20
By the time the next edition of Top Tracks drops, it'll almost be December, which means that in terms of music releases, we're entering the year's equivalent of garbage time. We've still got projects from The Weeknd, Childish Gambino, Gucci Mane, and Drake on the way in 2016, but beyond that, don't expect too many surprises in term of full-length projects. What you can bank on, though, are some new singles dropping in order to carry hype into the new year. Let's start shaping up that early 2017 release calendar.
August Alsina Calls Out AMAs For Mic Issues During "Do You Mind" Performance
Last night presented a big moment for August Alsina, as he was invited to perform alongside DJ Khaled, Future, Rick Ross, and Nicki Minaj at the 2016 American Music Awards. The five artists executed a rendition "Do You Mind," minus Chris Brown, who was also part of the collaborative single taken from Khaled's Major Key album. Though the performance seemed to go well, apparently some fans had called out Alsina for lip syncing his parts of the song.

The state of high-profile stars' song creation processes is such that we often don't know how credited songwriters and/or guests factor into the equation until long after the song is released. Time and time again this year, we've seen "original versions" by people other than the lead artists surface, basically proving that they're the main crative forces behind the song in question.
Top Tracks: October 31 - November 6
When Drake and Future linked up just over a year ago for What A Time To Be Alive, it was an almost earth-shattering event in hip hop, regardless of the album's quality. One was (and still is) undeniably the most popular rapper on the planet, and the other was (and probably isn't at the moment) the hottest, the guy who was just capping one of the craziest 12-month runs we've seen in this decade.

For the past few years it's been clear that regardless of quality, everything Drake announces or releases is guaranteed to produce more pageviews on HNHH than any of his contemporaries. We've known this for a while and capitalized upon it a few times, which many of you have noticed and decried, but hey, you're still clicking on it. Drizzy dropped four tracks on OVO Sound Radio last weekend and nothing has changed, despite the fact that they did arrive too late for last week's Top Tracks list.
Teen Who Gifted His Teacher Air Jordans Gets Shopping Spree At DJ Khaled's Champs Sports Store
Last month a student in Texas named Hector Montez went viral after video surfaced of him gifting his high school teacher a pair of "Taxi" Air Jordan 12s.
Charts Don't Lie: October 26
Last week was a tough break for hip hop records, with new releases by Green Day, Norah Jones, and OneRepublic occupying the top spots. They slipped back though, and now Drake, Travis Scott, the Suicide Squad Soundtrack, and a new record from The Game occupy space in the top 10. Rihanna and Solange stick around in the top 20, while Beyonce, Kanye West, DJ Khaled, and Rae Sremmurd hang out on the top 30. Elsewhere, Gucci Mane's Woptober debuts at #43 in this week's installment of Charts Don't Lie. ***

Well clearly the big news today is the announcement of Drake's new project More Life, and the ensuing tracks that the 6 God dropped on OVO Sound last night. Dude can still easily dominate the conversation whenever he wants to.
DJ Khaled Documented His Fiancée's Childbirth On Snapchat
There's no event that DJ Khaled won't snapchat. We've seen him document his shower routine, his adventures of being lost at sea on a jetski, and now, the birth of his son. Last night, anyone tuning in to Khaled's Snapchat got a full view into the hospital room where his fiancée, Nicole Tuck, was giving birth to their first child. Khaled posted a few clips from the scene, where he seemed to be playing his new album -- as we hear his hits "For Free" and "I Got The Keys" being played as his Nicole goes through labor.
Charts Don't Lie: October 19
With new albums at occupying the top three spots (Green Day, Norah Jones and OneRepublic in descending order) on the Billboard 200 chart, Drake is displaced to the #4 position, where he is later joined by the Suicide Squad soundtrack and Solange's surprise release. Travis Scott, Rihanna, and Kanye West are in the top 20 while the rest of the artists are just barely on the outskirts of the top 30. There are no new hip hop releases that make an appearance on this week's chart. ...

Who Are Your Favorite Rappers Voting For?
Tonight marks the third and final presidential debate before the election on November 8th. Ever since the first one, which took place on September 26th, Donald Trump has taken a huge nose-dive in the polls, but as we've seen in races past, anything can happen in the final weeks.
DJ Khaled Introduces His Own Champs Sports In Miami
Long before DJ Khaled was shouting "We The Best" and dominating Snapchat with Major Key alerts, the Miami native was an employee at Champs Sports. And in celebration of all of his success, Champs Sports recently hooked him up with his very own store located in Miami. Khaled's very own Champs Sports will serve as an invite-only hangout spot for inspirational, fashion-focused “cloth talks” with athletes, artists, and other celebrities from all walks of life.

Last week gave us Gucci Mane's second album of the year, Woptober, The Game's 1992, and Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge (aka NxWorries)' Yes Lawd!, and we've still got projects from D.R.A.M., Joe Budden, Common, and Jeezy dropping soon, but it feels like it's been a while since any major releases have arrived.
