Just like he's done the previous two months with 9/30 & 10/30, Currensy decided to come through at exactly 11:30 PM tonight (on 11/30) to share his 11th project of the year simply called 11/30. Laced with the appropriate 11 tracks, the prelude to next month's 12/30 tape features guest appearances from Corner Boy P, Tiny C-Style, T.Y., & Mr. Marcelo. Meanwhile, production is handled by the likes of Metro Boomin, Don Cannon, Cool & Dre, Purpz (of 808 Mafia), and more.
The Carrollton Heist: Remixed
Curren$y & Alchemist
Curren$y has dropped a mixtape per month this year. As his November tape hasn't come just yet, that makes for 10 so far. Those looking for a place to start should check out the second one he dropped, The Carrollton Heist, a joint project with producer Alchemist. Give that a listen ASAP, as a brand new remixed edition of the tape has now arrived in conjunction with a new Diamond Supply Co.
It's 10:30 on the eve of September 30th, and that means Curren$y's 10th project of the year, Andretti 10/30, is here. Averaging a project a month, it's already confirmed that no one's coming close matching the Jet Life president's output in 2016.
Well look what we have here. As promised earlier today, Curren$y keeps his word & comes through at exactly 9:30 PM tonight to share his new mixtape simply called Andretti 9/30 (bka today’s date).
Corner Boy P
Jet Lifer Corner Boy P is back with a new 11-track mixtape: Clientele. The tape arrives shortly after Corner Boy was an important part of Curren$y's Weed & Instrumentals 2, gifting the tape with a couple of tracks of his own, including "Eastside Savage," which received the video treatment last month.
Weed & Instrumentals 2
Here it is. Curren$y's eighth project of 2016. In case you lost count, it's only July. The NOLA veteran has been in top form amid his remarkable tear. Weed & Instrumentals should be another serious dose of audio dope. He announced the tape last week with the track "Good Cop, Bad Cop," a personal response to the police killing of Alton Sterling that took place in his home state.
Stoned On Ocean EP
Being a Curren$y fan is probably one of the most rewarding fan experiences. The rapper never goes too long in between projects, often times, it's only a few months in between releases-- and they're free too. Spitta dropped off The Legend of Harvard Blue in May, only to return a month later with his follow-up mixtape announcement, fast forward a week, and here's the project.
The Legend Of Harvard Blue
Here it is. Curren$y has now dropped his sixth project of 2016: The Legend of Harvard Blue. Keeping in line with recent releases like Revolver and The Carrolton Heist, The Legend of Harvard Blue should be another sonic movie from Spitta, as the project gets its title from the name of the pimp villain character played by Yaphet Kotto in the 1974 blaxploitation film "Truck Turner."
Bourbon Street Secrets
As you probably know, today is 420. Noted stoner Curren$y celebrates by releasing his new mixtape Bourbon Street Secrets, as promised. The tape is six tracks long and produced entirely by Purps of 808 Mafia. The lone feature comes from Rick Ross.
Prodigy's new three-part mixtape R.I.P. may be enough to keep Mobb Deep fans satisfied for years to come.
Curren$y & Sledgren
Last week, Curren$y released a new mixtape, Weed & Instrumentals, that served as a showcase of his Jet Life roster.
Weed & Instrumentals
Curren$y Feat. Jet Life
Curren$y must have an allergy to hype, or maybe he just likes to test how many of his fans are real ones. Either way, he dropped another mixtape today without any warning, Weed & Instrumentals. Two of the tracks – “G.A.S.” & “In My City” – appeared as loosies previously.
The Carrollton Heist
Curren$y & Alchemist
Curren$y and Alchemist together for a 12-track mixtape? Say no more. The emcee and producer, both kings of the underground, have come together for The Carrollton Heist, which serves as the follow up to Covert Coupe, the joint album they dropped in 2011.
The Owners Manual
The endlessly prolific Curren$y somehow still manages to surprise us with his output. After announcing the project and releasing the tracklist just yesterday (!), Curren$y has laced us with the entire six song mixtape less than 24 hours later. We originally speculated that we'd hear a single today, so this is surprising, to say the least.
Cabin Fever 3
The usually prolific Wiz Khalifa has been relatively quiet this year, releasing just one project -- Talk About It In The Morning, his 5-track collaborative EP with Ty Dolla $ign -- until this point.
Steak X Shrimp 2
With the help of DJ Drama and DJ Mr. Rogers, Le$ has come through with a fantastic sequel to his Steak x Shrimp mixtape, released a year ago. Steak x Shrimp 2 opens with an intro from Curren$y, who praises Le$' grind while sparking a joint, and from then on, it's a smooth ride that captures the best of Houston and New Orleans. The Jet Life affiliate was raised in N.O. but has been living in Houston for over a decade, and it's clear he's 100 percent H-Town certified.
Staying true to his word, Curren$y decides to come through tonight and bless fans with his brand new mixtape titled Cathedral.
Corner Boy P
After dropping his Amerikan Greed project in November, Jet Lifer Corner Boy P drops off his latest mixtape RNS 2. Laced with 9 tracks, RNS 2 is stacked with features, including a few from Corner Boy P's Jet Life affiliates. All in all the tape sees appearances from LE$, Curren$y, T.Y., Roddy, Fiend, Smoke DZA, & Blunt Smoker, with 183rd handling the bulk of the production.
Casino Life 2: Brown Bag Legend
While we still haven't seen hide nor hair of French Montana's long-delayed album Mac & Cheese 4, he has been staying up on his mixtape game in the meantime. He gave us Mac & Cheese 4: The Appetizer in December, and today, we get Casino Life 2: Brown Bag Legend. In contrast to its Harry Fraud-produced predecessor, this one's packed with guest appearances.
Javotti Media Presents: The Cathedral
Talib Kweli's just dropped a new tape under his relatively young Javotti Media label entitled The Cathedral. Bringing together contributions from Corey Mo, NIKO IS, Chris Webby, Joell Ortiz, Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T., Kendra Ross, Pharoahe Monch, Kweli himself and many more, the 15 track tape arrives today via SoundCloud, where Kweli wrote:
