With his clever rhymes and commanding mic presence, Critical is one of Atlantic Canada’s most promising young MCs. Growing up in Mulgrave Park in the north end of Halifax, Critical was blessed with a love and appreciation for music thanks to his mother’s RnB records. From an early age he exhibited this love by singing in many talent shows. As he came closer to being a teenager, his appreciation... for RnB maintained while his deeper passion for Hip Hop grew. A move to “the Pubs” in the west end of Halifax brought him in touch with friends and family who were also upcoming MCs. Critical proved himself and his rap abilities in many schoolyard ciphers huddled around friends beatboxing and rapping back and forth. As his reputation grew, so did his ambition, and he began doing performances at various Halifax venues while releasing and appearing on several mixtapes, including his 2009 release, Ghostmode. Young, talented and hungry at only 20 years old, Critical has been sought out to contribute his strong voice and heartfelt rhymes to collaborations with other artists such as Quake, Al Boogie, Ghettochild and Miracle and is commanding stages as well as he has ever commanded ciphers.
