Todd “Cherrio” Chism was born on March 2, 1992 in Georgetown, Mississippi. He is a 2010 graduate of Crystal Springs High School located in Crystal Springs, MS. Cherrio grew up around musical family members such as his Father, who is a Blues DJ, and his cousin 2elven, who is a west coast underground rapper. In contrast, Cherrio had his own style in music. At the age of nine, he began singing R&B. But it wasn’t until he heard Chingy’s 2003 hit One Call Away, at the age of twelve, when he began his musical career as a rapper. As Cherrio grew older he continued his passion for music. In high school, he played the alto/tenor saxophone and drums in marching and concert band. He is also affiliated with the piano and guitar. Cherrio is a hard-working and driven artist who believes in working until the job is done effectively. Once he recalled staying in the studio for 4 days straight working on music. Cherrio was in a group called Dem D-boyz n CTF with two other members from whom he met in an apartment in Richland, MS. Soon Cherrio left the group and went solo once again. Cherrio’s everyday motto is “I say what I do and I do what I say.” He believes that you should be yourself and not care about the opinions of others. Because at the end of the day, you are the star and you should just shine out. In his performances, he throws himself toward the audience because he gives the audience himself. He gives them a piece of his past to give them a further knowledge himself. He one day wishes to become CEO of his own record company. He credits his musical talents to his grandmothers Emma and Earlane and his niece because they’re the only ones that believe he will succeed in becoming a superior musical icon.
