Cano (formerly Lil Spin) (born Alan Toscano in July 1994) is a young aspiring rapper and singer. He is the son of two Mexican immigrant parents, born and raised in the city of Austin, Texas. He is a hard-working student athlete and currently attends one of the most prestigious Preparatory Schools in the nation, St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas. Alan is also a great athlete and has excelled highly in sports such as Soccer and Baseball. He started playing both at the young age of four, and through select ball and club teams, has gotten to where he is right now. At the age of 11 and 12, Alan went to Cooperstown Dreams Park two consecutive years to play baseball against teams all over the country, winning 1st place the first year and 8th place the second year out of 90 teams. Currently at St. Stephen’s School, Alan is a dual-Varsity athlete, excelling in both Soccer and Baseball. Aside from Sports and family-life, Alan plans to pursue a career, if possible, as a singer and rapper in the Hip-Hop/RnB/Rap genre. His whole life, Alan has been listening to Hip-Hop and Rap including big artists such as Biggie Smalls, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and new coming artist Drake. He has always wanted to be “someone” in life and looked at many of these artists as role models of success. Only 2 years ago (2008), Alan discovered that he too had talent for rapping and singing, so he started making cover songs and singing over original songs. After plenty of covers, he decided to start writing his own lyrics only 6 months ago (October 2009). Currently, Alan is working on two projects: his mixtape “The Genesis Mixtape” which features instrumentals from Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Drake, etc. and promoting himself by making demos of his music. He plans to have an un-official release of the mixtape in August 2010. Alan also plans to schedule on-going gigs all year to promote his style and music around the country, and hopes to get noticed so he can do bigger and better things in his career.
