Bobby Shmurda's video for "Hot Nigga" created quite a stir earlier this summer, instantly creating a meme in the "Shmoney Dance", and inspiring a flock of labels to encircle the young New Yorker. Since then, Shmurda has signed a deal with EPIC, and "Hot Nigga" has been getting plenty of traction outside of YouTube streams. The "Break Your Neck" MC is clearly a fan of the violent head bang, and in a hilarious new interview, he reveals that the dance move once decimated the entire windshield on Wyclef Jean's tour bus. The music that spurred on this incident? Eminem's Slim Shady LP, obviously.

    Dec 19, 2013 at 06:45pm
Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes' new 28-track mixtape The Abstract & The Dragon plays like a documentary that any serious hip-hop head would enjoy - with its numerous remixes and skits, it's a welcome throwback to the traditional mixtape format. That being said, the tape may fall short for younger rap fans and/or advocates of the new school who prefer the turnt up trap approach to dusty New York classicism. This is an acquired taste, and although many of us were expecting something more original, this nostalgia trip is dope nonetheless.

Hype Williams may have only directed four videos in 2014, but that doesn't mean we can't all remember a time when every dope hip-hop video seemed to have Hype's fingerprints on it. Countless legendary MCs collaborated with Hype Williams, including the likes of Jay Z, Notorious B.I.G., Nas, Busta Rhymes and A Tribe Called Quest, and also R&B stars like Blackstreet, Aaliyah, Usher and Mary J. Blige. He is definitely the most prolific video director in the hip-hop world.
