After performing a 42 song set at SXSW, he sat down with VIBE and revealed the other features on his upcoming mixtape. Aside from Maco, The Iron Way will feature Bun B, Big K.R.I.T., and, most surprisingly, Aaliyah.

    This week we have two new-comers on Charts Don't Lie, the first being buzzing singer Jhene Aiko and the latter, veteran in the game, Bun B. Jhene Aiko pulled pretty good numbers for her debut EP, leaving us hopeful for what's to come from the West Coast native. Her buzz will only continue to climb leading up to the release of her debut album, Soul(ed) Out, and so dropping the EP was definitely a good look for the singer. The EP was projected to move 25-30k, but surpassed 30k with 33,000 units opening week.

    Although reluctant at first, Bun B has readily accepted the title of "OG". The Houston rap legend explained his embrace of the term in a recent interview with Power 105's Breakfast Club, in which he discussed his early struggles as a Southern rap artist, his break on Jay Z's "Big Pimpin'," as well as the tropes of current Houston music. "We had to fight the hard fight." Bun said of UGK's attempts to break through in a New York dominated industry. "It wasn't as hard as the Geto boys and the people who came before us."

    The all red "Legends of the Summer" Jordans that were worn during the Jay-Z/Justin Timberlake tour had sneakerheads hopeful that these tonal kicks would someday hit retail. It doesn't seem like they will be released, which means the pairs that were made are that much more exclusive.

Bun B's new website definitely caters to today's constant-food-sharing culture. While talking about the new endeavor with NewsFix the rapper explained, "One of the great features about the site. It's a place where you can show us a picture of what you ate today. We'll upload it to the website and you'll become a part of YouGottaEatThis.com."

    The acclaimed hip-hop label Rap-A-Lot Records has found a new distributor, moving from INgrooves to Sony RED. The label, which has been around for 27 years, announced the exclusive multi-year deal today, which will include physical and digital distribution in the United States and Canada. The founder of Rap-A-Lot Records, James Prince, stated on the new endeavor, "It's an honor to be in business with RED Distribution.  I'm looking forward to working with Bob Morelli and Alan Becker and merging the experienced staffs to create a lot more success in the industry."

    The Atlanta hip-hop festival A3C now spans five days for their ninth annual event. This year the festival takes place on October 2nd til the 6th. The A3C festival has announced performances by Ghostface Killah, Too Short, R.A. The Rugged Man, Pharaohe Monch, Jean Grae, Jarren Benton, 9th Wonder and Rich Medina. More recently, it was announced that Black Hippy's ScHoolboy Q and Jay Rock, Bun B, as well as A$AP Ferg will be performing.     Earlier in the week, Pimp C's mother was reportedly hospitalized in Port Arthur, Texas with serious illness. Unfortunately, the late rapper's UGK partner Bun B has now confirmed that C's mother has passed away.  Not much is known of the cause of her death, but Bun offered a photo and short eulogy to Mama Wes on Instagram today.
