Birdman & Jacquees Feat. DeJ Loaf
Jacquees first told us about Lost At Sea, his joint project with Birdman, back in February. "You know, I call my rapping ‘swangin’’ cause its not real rap. It’s swangin’. It's melodic. So I’m doing a lot of swangin’ on the project." As promised, the singer's vocals do veer towards the rap-influenced side of his sound across the new EP, at times recalling former Rich Gang collaborator Young Thug in his cadence. On "007," the closing track, he opens with his self-described "swangin'," but ultimately opens up his delivery into his sweet singing voice.
Rich Gang Feat. Jacquees, Birdman, Ralo, J-Soul & Derez
Birdman is currently prepping his summer takeover, as he has a part in three projects that are supposed to drop in the next couple of months.
Lost At Sea
Birdman & Jacquees
Birdman and Jacquees are getting ready to release their collaborative project together, and while it was scheduled to be dropping today, it won't arrive until next week. To hold us over, Jacquees has shared the title track from the tape, which finds him rapping more than singing, and sounding a whole lot like Birdman's former collaborator, Young Thug. Meanwhile, Bird tries out some new flows, but sounds like his usual shit-talking self.
One of the lessons of Donald Trump's presidential campaign is that attention is everything. In 2016 we live in an attention economy. After telling Charlamagne to "put some respek on it when you mention my name," Birdman has faithfully followed the Trump steps to success. He has fully commodified RESPEK. After rolling out "Respek," the merchandise line, Birdman now gives us "Respek," the single.
Birdman Feat. Ralo & Derez De'Shon
Birdman has two new project dropping within a week of one another this summer, and after giving us the most talked about event of the week shy of Beyonce's surprise release, he's decided to start the rollout for the double drop. Today, he shares "Neighborhood," which places him alongside Ralo and Derez De'Shon, the former of which also appeared on "Hustle," and seems like he may be the driving force of the upcoming Rich Gang 2 project. He's certainly got a unique energy reminiscent of Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan.
Birdman Feat. Ralo & Neno Calvin
Birdman is trending everywhere right now due to his Breakfast Club interview earlier today, during which he sparred with Charlamagne and stormed out after two minutes. As his name has been in the headlines, he thought it was the right time to share the release dates for two upcoming projects, his solo album Ms.
Bling Bling [Throwback]
B.G. Feat. Birdman, Lil Wayne, Mannie Fresh, Juvenile & Turk
Mannie Fresh delighted fans this morning with the release of "Hate" featuring Lil Wayne, Birdman, & Juvenile. The old squad!! "Hate" will appear on a Mannie Fresh album dropped this summer via Mass Appeal. HNHH celebrates by throwing it back this week to "Bling Bling" -- the 1999 Cash Money anthem that made "bling" a thing.
Mannie Fresh Feat. Juvenile, Lil Wayne & Birdman
During Mass Appeal's recent AMA session on Reddit's HipHopHeads thread, the label/publication hinted that they'd be behind the release of an album from a New Orleans legend this year-- while some hypothesized they were referring to Lil Wayne, it seems the real N.O. legend is Mannie Fresh. Today Mass Appeal has released the first single from Mannie's upcoming album, which finds him linking with his once-frequent collaborators and fellow OGs, Lil Wayne, Birdman and Juvie, for "Hate."
We Takin' Over
DJ Khaled Feat. Akon, T.I., Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Birdman & Lil Wayne
Tomorrow, DJ Khaled will drop his eighth studio album I Changed A Lot. But judging from the tracklist, he hasn't changed much in his instinct to stack his albums with an almost comically thorough assemblage of the biggest names in hip hop and R&B.
Make It Rain (Remix)
Fat Joe Feat. Lil Wayne, R. Kelly, Birdman, Rick Ross, T.I. & Ace Mac
Scott Storch's name is back in the headlines again, but not for the best reasons. The super-producer has had a rough few years, but while the recent news that he's declared bankruptcy makes it seem as though he's still struggling, Storch's career is on a steady up-turn.According to the legendary beatmaker, he's not only clean, but he's got collaborations with Rick Ross and Chris Brown on the way. The thought of a Storch renaissance had us revisiting some of his classic productions, and we landed on Fat Joe's stacked "Make It Rain" remix for this week's throwback track.
Young Thug Feat. Kevin Gates, Birdman & MPA Duke
Despite the fact that they're currently two of the most regularly roasted rappers in the country, and are both tight with Boosie Badazz, Young Thug and Kevin Gates had never collaborated until recently. Today, we get to hear "Destroyed, " a Thugger track that features not only Gates, but also Birdman and MPA Duke.
Weezy & Birdman (CA$H MONEY DREAMS)
If you need a song about a current event in hip-hop, Just-Ty is your man. After his track "Chain Reaction (Migo Gossip)" dropped just days after Quavo got his chain snatched in Washington DC, the DC native now releases a track about Lil Wayne and Birdman on the day that a rift between them began showing.
Sho Me Love
Rich Gang Feat. Juvenile & Drake
Recently, it was announced that Cash Money veteran Juvenile was rejoining the label to stage a comeback. Birdman said that his upcoming album would be executive produced by London On The Track, and now it looks like we've gotten the first track from that, albeit shared under the "Rich Gang" name. Featuring Drake, "Sho Me Love" has Juvie holding down the verses and Drizzy on the hook.
There were talks of a possible Big Tymers reunion album in 2013, but nothing has resulted from it since Lil Wayne first discussed the idea.
10 Gs (Remix)
Curren$y Feat. Birdman & Gunplay
Curren$y hit us with the hazy banger, "10 Gs" on his most recent mixtape, The Drive-In Theatre, and as that track has been gaining traction, Spitta has given it an all-star remix. The new version appears on the rapper's surprise EP, Saturday Night Car Tunes, and collects some well-selected features from Birdman and Gunplay. Where Curren$y glides over the horn-sample-lead beat, his collaborators take further advantage of the punchy bass line, with Birdman coming through with his mob-boss swag, and Gunplay delivering some ferocious quotables.
Birdman Feat. Young Thug & Rich Homie Quan
We know Birdman co-signs Young Thug, the YMCMB boss and Rich Gang leader appeared in Thugga's photo shoot for Complex (that was basically the only way the photo shoot would get done), and then told the magazine that he thinks Thug has the same potential Drake and Lil Wayne did.
Khalil Feat. Birdman
Birdman takes young Sacramento, California singer / songwriter Khalil under his wing on this lavish new record, aptly-titled "Bands Up" and included on DJ Tay James' new mixtape We Know The DJ Radio, Vol. 4. Khalil is apparently one of Justin Bieber's closest friends, having been heavily co-signed by him. Produced By Johnny Rain, the track closes with a brief, open form verse from Birdman, which you can read in the abstract below. He paints a vivid picture.
Lil Wayne Feat. Birdman & Euro
The Young Money crew just announced a new compilation album in the works, Rise Of An Empire, and with that news they've released the first leak off it which features Weezy, Birdman and Euro, "We Alright." This Young Money compilation will follow up 2009's We Are Young Money. Euro is a new YMCMB signee who comes from Providence, Rhode Island. Digging this collaboration?
Rich Homie Quan Feat. Birdman
Rich Homie Quan's chances in this game are improving with each new release, and CASH Money (Prod. By Metro Boomin & 808 Mafia) is no exception - quite the opposite, in fact. It's a nice addition to the impressive catalogue Rich Homie Quan has been building over the years. We're definitely anticipating the next move.
Curren$y Feat. Lil Wayne & Birdman
Bump 442 [CDQ], the latest cut from Curren$y which features Lil Wayne & Birdman on the assist. It dropped on Thursday, October 31st, 2013. Curren$y's horizons are broadening with each new release, and 442 [CDQ] is no exception. It's a worthy addition to a catalogue that has seen much growth since Curren$y stepped foot in the rap game. We're looking forward to hearing more.
