First Week Sales For Big Sean, Tyga & Chris Brown Are Here

140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (February 27)
Kanye wept. Drake reigned. Dark Sky Paradise happened. This week in hip-hop can be summarized in those three tersely worded sentences.
Review: Big Sean's "Dark Sky Paradise"
Critics are always fighting conflicting urges. On the one hand, there's the need to be objective and evaluate each work on its own merits. On the other, there's the desire to fit each new release from an artist into an over-arcing career narrative. The trick is to find a balance between the two.
Samples Of The Week: February 26 (Big Sean Edition)
Dark Sky Paradise dropped earlier this week, with Big Sean set to move just under 150,000 copies, and now comes time to break it down on "Samples Of The Week." Although the album is a bit darker and more modern-sounding than Hall Of Fame and Finally Famous, it still makes use of some dope samples, with producers Kanye West and Key Wane digging some gold

Big Sean's Best Wordplay On "Dark Sky Paradise"
Big Sean has always been a gifted wordsmith. Puns, metaphors, similes--you name it. On occasion, though, he's been guilty of reaching: "ass-quake, ass-tate, ass-tray..." He's better than that. And on Dark Sky Paradise he proves it. Lyrically, this is Sean's deepest work, but he doesn't ditch the wordplay games. In fact, some of these bars are his wittiest ever. These rhymes will have you doing double-takes, and by the time the lyrics click, Sean's already bars ahead.
Stream Big Sean's New Album "Dark Sky Paradise"
Big Sean's third commercial album, Dark Sky Paradise, is in stores and online today. It's safe to say the G.O.O.D. Music rapper's past album releases didn't exactly live up to the hype, however the hype for DSP seems to be working for Sean, not against him. While it may not be an instant classic, it's shaping up to be Big Sean's most cohesive project yet.

140 Bars Or Less: Tweets Of The Week (February 6)
This week has been a mixed bag, which is unfortunate since it started off good. Missy Elliott came back, messed around and stole Iggy Azalea's Super Bowl performance. Will this put impetus on Missy E to put out a new album soon? One can hope.
Samples Of The Week: February 5
After devoting a few of the most recent editions of "Samples Of The Week" to break down sample-heavy albums by J. Cole, Lupe Fiasco. Joey Bada$$ and Fabolous, we return to the usual format this week. That means it's back to covering three big tracks that dropped this week, and this time around, they're taken from all corners of the hip-hop spectrum. First, Action Bronson paired up with The Alchemist for a dusty gem, then Cannibal Ox returned with DOOM in tow for one of their space-age anthems, and the last track on the list... well, you know what the biggest song of the week was.
