It had to happen at some point. The official statement from Jay Z, Beyonce, and Solange pertaining to the leaked security footage of Solange attacking Jay in an elevator has finally arrived. Unfortunately, almost no explanation has been provided, other than the family has "worked through" their issues. They've definitely taken the "this is something all families go through" approach on this one, which means it's being kept private, and the world may never know exactly what happened in that elevator. Yesterday we reported that Solange Knowles was caught on security cameras assaulting Jay-Z in an elevator after the Met Gala. Solange, on the other hand, may just have fallen on the opposite end of the spectrum.

Last week at the Barclays center, Jay-Z was seen rocking large gold pendant that serves as a symbolic representation of the Five Percent Nation affiliation. Beyoncé Sued By Fans Who Were Allegedly Trampled At Her Show
Two women are suing Beyoncé after they were trampled by a mob of fans at her concert in Chicago last December. According to the suit, Raquel Castellanos and Gabriella Davidson arrived early United Center in hopes to get as close as possible to the stage in the general admission section. When the gates opened, there was a mad rush to the front of the venue, during which the two women were knocked to the ground and trampled, leaving them unconscious and with bones broken.

There are only two new entries within the top 10 of the Billboard 200 this week, and they belong to two rappers: ScHoolboy Q and Kid Cudi. As we said last week, Q was projected to move 150-160k, but fell slightly under that by moving 138,950 copies opening week. This was nevertheless an extremely strong showing from the TDE rapper, which gave him his first #1 debut as well as that of the label's.

It's almost time for the ScHoolboy Q and Kid Cudi chart invasion, but not just yet. We received the first week sales projection for both rappers respective releases, Oxymoron and Satellite Flight, and both are on track to sell a solid amount of albums. Q is looking like he'll do some damage with 150,000-160,000 copies projected, and thus debut at #1 which definitely isn't a bad look, while Kid Cudi will come close behind with 90,000-95,000 copies.

Overall album sales are up this week by 20% according to Nielsen, and we may have Valentine's Day purchases to blame for this one. Perhaps lovers were picking up Drake's Nothing Was The Same, and some r'n'b albums for V-Day? Along with Drake seeing a rise in sales, so did Justin Timberlake, R. Kelly, Beyonce and John Legend-- those are all very Valentine's Day-worthy releases.

Although we saw an increase in overall album sales last week, due to the Grammys and the Super Bowl, this week we're back down again, with a 3% decrease compared to last week. While Bruno Mars isn't featured on the list below, it should be noted he's still benefiting from the Super Bowl half-time show, with two of his albums, Unorthodox Jukebox having an astounding 92% increase, and his debut, Doo-Wops & Hooligans benefiting from a 52% increase.
