Charts Don't Lie: September 21
With six new releases taking up the top eleven spots on the Billboard 200, most hip hop records took a tumble on the charts this week. Drake and the Suicide Squad soundtrack each bounced up a spot, to #2 and #3 respectively, but everyone else on our list fell, aside from Kanye who stayed put at the #21 spot. After debuting with the #1 album in the country, Travis Scott lands at #6 with Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight. Frank Ocean, Rihanna, Beyonce, and DJ Khaled stay within the top 20 with their newest releases.

Drake is once again at the #1 spot with his fourth studio album VIEWS. The record continues to thrive, and although "Once Dance" was bumped from the #1 spot, he doesn't seem to show any signs of slowing down soon. Rihanna, Beyonce, and ScHoolboy Q all join Drizzy in the top 10 of Billboard's 200 chart, marking a solid showing for R&B and hip hop on the charts this week.
2016 MTV VMA Nominations Announced
MTV has announced the nominees for the 2016 Video Music Awards. Beyonce earned a whopping 11 nominations. The artist with the second most nominations is Adele, who earned eight, seven of which are for "Hello." Ariana Grande (5), Drake (4), and Rihanna (4) could also be lined up for a big night. It's a pretty good week for rap artists on the Billboard charts. Drake was able to reclaim the #1 spot on the Billboard 200 from previous owners Blink-182, and ScHoolboy Q managed to fend off the pop-punk band as well, nabbing a very respectable #2 debut with his new album Blank Face LP. Rihanna and Beyonce's respective albums continue to thrive in the top 10, while Bryson Tiller, Kevin Gates and Maxwell find spots in the top 20.
