Babyboi (born Shaquille Blanton) is a rapper/songwriter hailing from the town of Farmville Virginia (currently residing in Cumberland, Va). In 2009 he began to explore his talent for the art of rapping and along with his friend, Duke. he formed the collective known as Cut Throat Community. Adopting the stage name “Babyboi” he began recording in 2010 and released his first mixtape. His love of music, and constant need to be challenged in the art form, has resulted in becoming one of the most versatile rap artist in the state of Virginia. From the traditional braggadocio style of “It’s C.T.C. diss track (Young Soldier)” and “Meet Me At The Top-I’m Hot,” to the more personal, heartfelt, tone of “Pops I Love Ya” and “R.I.P. Frankie,” Babyboi has shown himself to be a talent worth watching. Performing in venues from Richmond, Virginia to Atlanta, Georgia, his current mixtape entitled “Cut Throat Season” showcases his firm grasps of basic Hip Hop techniques and his lack of apprehension in going outside the box and pushing musical and lyrical boundaries. Whether you’re looking for a hardcore street anthem, a bouncy dance track, or a Hip Hop ballad, Babyboi’s “Cut Throat Season” mixtape is a must for your collection.
