New music Friday brought us two more big-time albums with PartyNextDoor's P3 and Rae Sremmurd's SremmLife 2. It seems like the tide in the rap game has finally slowed down a bit, after all the theatrics surrounding the release of Kanye West's The Life of Pablo (which is still being amended) and, then, the surprise release of a masterful compilation of outtakes from Kendrick Lamar. Still, on a song-by-song basis, the genre continues to bring us more quality than we can handle.
Stream Amir Obe's New EP "Won't Find Love In The Hills"
The talented Amir Obe has put together another short EP, only three months to the day after dropping the Happening In The Grey Area EP. Obe’s skillful vocals are on full display throughout all three tracks on Won’t Find Love In The Hills. He enlisted OZ, NYLZ, Ashton Mills, Eli Sostre, STWO and The MeKanics for the production. The beats are all right in Amir Obe’s wheelhouse, mostly downturned trap-influenced R&B beats.

This week, as you probably noticed, the VERY HOTTTTTs were killing it, and no, we weren't just in a giving mood, there was just a lot of fire music dropping. Not only that, the songs lists were phenomenally long each day (who peeped our Snapchat?). All this to say, everyone should have a song they were fucking with this past week.
Stream Amir Obe's "Happening In The Grey Area" EP
Amir Obe kept this project on the downlow for long enough. The singer/rapper announced the EP officially yesterday, with the release of the project's artwork (and release date). Today he's followed up as promised with a full stream of Happening In The Grey Area.

Today has been very heavy on the album release side, as you've probably noticed by the almost insurmountable number of streams we've posted thus far (and there are more to come). In between this week's long list of new releases, as well as last week's, your iTunes should be busy for a while. That's not even mentioning the mixtapes that'll drop on Thanksgiving Day next week-- Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, 50 Cent.

It's that time of the week again. The weather might be crap, but work's over, school's out, and that should be enough to get your mind in the right place. If not, then we've got your musical medication, which will, no doubt, pair nicely with whatever other treats, medical-grade or otherwise, you've got on deck.

Along with the likes of Quentin Miller, Partynextdoor, and Frank Dukes, Amir Obe is one of the up-and-coming names that contributed to Drake's album If You're Reading This It's Too Late. The MC also dropped off Detrooklyn last year, which was a solid mixtape that has propelled his music into the ears of millions.

This week's edition of Staff Picks seems to be (accidentally) OVO themed, like a light/curated version of OVO Radio. Drizzy dominated this week, dropping two diss records (back to back), to be followed up by Meek's own attempt at a diss track last night.

The Oliver El Khatib-Drake-Noah "40" Shebib triumvirate dropped a quartet of bombs during Saturday's episode of OVO Sound Radio: PND's "No Feelings" feat.
