Ammar Abouelghar (born October 5, 1993), better known by his stage names Aymar, is a 17 year old writer/Hip Hop artist. Born in Doha, Qatar, the son of Yasser Abouelghar, and is of Egyptian decent. Long before his birth, his parents moved from Egypt to work in Doha, Qatar; where he grew up. Music was not a big part of his early life as it was not given that much attention in this part of the world. At the age of 14, Ammar met Oj, who first introduced him to the idea of rapping. Eminem was the first rapper Ammar listened to. He couldn’t help notice how the song “When I’m Gone” reflects so much about Eminem’s life and he realized that music is a good way for him to express his ideas, feelings and let them be heard by others out there. He wasn’t sure how to start, but a poetry assignment in his English opened his eyes on the potential he attains and motivated him to take that to a higher level. Inspired by artists like Eminem, Immortal Technique, and Tupac, Ammar began writing and recording his own music under the name of “The Payne” in 2007, using his laptop’s built in microphone. His interest in music grew and he was exposed to more mainstream artists such as Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Drake, T.I….etc. At the end of 2007, Ammar released his first song; “Rainy Days” which was about his mother, who still takes a huge part of his music. He had an on and off game because it was hard to keep up music and finish high school at the same time. In 2008, he worked on some projects with the group “Crystallize” with “Mighty G.” and a producer by the name of “Tee Wayne”. Shortly after joining the group he decided to change his stage name to “Aymar”. The group used a professional recording studio which was a new thing to him. They released “Across the Room” which was locally successful. They performed it at parties and talent shows. They also released “Millionaire Dreams” and “I’ll Never Fall”. Few months later, Aymar decided to work solo again due to problems with some group members. At the end of his high school senior year (2010), Ammar put an unofficial project titled “Aymar The Mixtape”. After graduating from high school the age of 16, Ammar started giving more attention to his music. He bought a better microphone and decided which improved the quality of his tracks to a certain extent. As he stepped even further into the rap game, he realized that the fact that Hip-Hop is not given a lot of attention in this region and many times his work was not appreciated. He also faced some criticism from the public eye as he was accused of “stealing Drake’s flow”. All this criticism motivated him to work even harder to prove himself in the rap game hoping that he would make it one day. A while after, (late 2011) Ammar met fellow writer and local rapper Yousif Khalil, a.k.a. Stichs. With the aid of Hassan Al-Mana they formed the rap group, L.O.T. and the record label Bluelime Productions™. Ammar's vision is "Instead of signing a deal with a record label, I'll be the record label. Big ambitions lead to big achievements."
