The one-time College Rapper is preparing to take the album on the road for a string of "RetroHash" tour dates.

    It's fair to presume that some hip-hop fans have slept on Asher Roth over the years. Some still associate him only with his 2009 platinum-selling hit "I Love College". If you find yourself in this category, it's time to recognize one of the best lyrical, smooth-flowing rappers in the game. His extensive fan base, constant big-name collaborations, and overall consistency with which he has made dope music are all reflections of Asher Roth's skill and growth as an artist.

    Asher Roth is getting ready to drop his first album in 5 years. RetroHash will see release April 22nd through Federal Prism Records, and now has some official cover art. The project, which will be produced entirely be Blended Babies, is preceded by Asher's recent single "Tangerine Girl". The psychedelic artwork for the album features Asher in Cowboy attire, complete with a trippy color scheme.

    Asher Roth let go a laid-back new single moments ago, "Tangerine Girl", which has production from his frequent collaborators the Blended Babies. As it turns out, the Blended Babies and Asher will have more work together than just "Tangerine Girl" on the forthcoming RetroHash LP-- they're producing the entire thing.

    It's been a long minute since Asher Roth burst onto the scene with his fratboy anthem "I Love College". Things have changed since then, and Asher is ready to tell the world exactly how on his new album RetroHash. “This should explain where I’ve been the past 4 years,” Asher said of his prolonged absence from the rap game. “[The album] is more focused on songs and ideas and feels,” he said. “I’m not trying to pull a fast one on anyone. I’m just doing stuff that I know is why people fell in love with me in the first place.”

    You may remember Asher Roth's track from Asleep In The Bread Aisle where he addressed Eminem comparisons, and if you don't-- Eminem sure does. On a track from his recently released MMLPII Em goes at Asher for what he claims to be a backhanded compliment. "Quit actin' salty, I was countin' on you to count me out/Ask Asher Roth when he round-a-bout dissed me to shout me out/Thought I was history/But goddamn honkey, that compliment's like backhanding a donkey," said Em on "Asshole," making reference to Roth's "As I Em".
