Akon Feat. O.T. Genasis
On Friday, Akon released a new compilation tape with DJ Whoo Kid called Konvict Kartel Vol. 1 which featured music from some of his newest signees and affiliates under his label, including OG Boo Dirty, Tone Tone, Money Man, & more. But for its opening record, Akon decided to record a new song for himself with fellow hit-maker O.T. Genasis called “Ride Daddy,” and it's got great potential.
Gucci Mane Feat. Akon & Chris Brown
Gucci Mane continues to keep the new music coming.
I Am Somebody
Greg Street Feat. Big K.R.I.T., B.o.B, Akon & Jesse Jackson
In light of the Alton Sterling and Philando Castile tragedies, DJ Greg Street recruits the all-star cast of Big K.R.I.T., B.o.B., Akon, & Jesse Jackson to urge listeners to stay strong in the pursuit of peace. Interpolated throughout are soulful wah-wah guitar licks somewhat reminiscent of Funkadelic's "Maggot Brain," in which bandleader George Clinton, high on LSD, asked his guitarist, Eddie Hazel, to play as though he had learned his mother had just passed away.
Young Greatness Feat. Akon
Young Greatness has been steadily building off the buzz of his hit “Moolah,” most recently releasing "Ball" and getting an official remix from Lil Wayne and Yo Gotti.
Had It Hard
DJ Funky & DJ Buu Feat. Akon & Waka Flocka
DJ Fucky and DJ Buu have a new mixtape called For Smokers Only on the way, and fittingly, they've chosen 4/20 to let go of the first single. They've assembled a collaboration between Akon and Waka Flocka, which may seem a bit strange on paper, but the hypnotically walloping beat is perfect territory for both of the vocalists aggressive best. The tracklist for the project, complete with some serious features can be found below. Look out for the tape May 13th.Quotable Lyrics:
Hustler's Ambition (Remix)
Monica Feat. Jeezy & Akon
Well here’s something that went completely unnoticed earlier in the week. On Tuesday, Monica took to twitter to share a treat for her fans, which happened to be a special remix of her Akon-assisted record “Hustler's Ambition” now featuring a guest verse from Jeezy on it.
Rhythm Of The Drum
Ty Dolla $ign Feat. Akon
Ty Dolla $ign is intent on paying his respects to his R&B forefathers by hitting them up for dope collaborations. His debut album, Free TC, featured acts like Babyface, Jagged Edge, and R. Kelly. He's now hooked up with a legend of slightly more contemporary status, but a legend nonetheless: Akon. The Konvict appears next to Ty on the ultra-smooth "Rhythm of the Drum."
Good Girls Lie
Akon has been dropping new music recently, teaming up with Houston sensation DJ Chose on "Want Some," remixing "Forever" with Future Hendrix, and dropping poppy solo cut "Hypnotized" over the last couple of months. Today, he's shared another hooky offering called "Good Girls Lie," sounding like he's gearing up to drop an album soon.
Akon seems to be on a music mission these past few days. The singer was quiet for some time, but finally made a return with the release of his "Forever (Remix)" featuring Future at the end of last week. He kept the momentum going with a new visual and song yesterday, for "Shine the Light."
Akon Feat. Future
Akon returned from his musical hiatus last year and closed out 2015 on somewhat of a mini-comeback, releasing tracks like “Want Some," “Whole Lot” featuring Migos, and “Stick Around.” Looking to kee
DJ Funky Feat. Akon, Migos & Solo Lucci
Akon hasn't put out an album since 2008. He's allegedly working towards a 5-disc, 5-genre studio album called Stadium, but he seems more preoccupied with his grand plan to bring electricity to 600 million Africans. The Senegalese hook maestro took a break from that lofty endeavor to appear on a new track from DJ Funky called "Whole Lot."
Akon Feat. DJ Chose
After dropping off “Stick Around” a couple weeks ago, Akon decides to return today with another new song for us called “Want Some” featuring DJ Chose.
Monica Feat. Akon
Monica has sold 25 million records over the course of her illustrious career, but she's still leaning on features from veteran heavyweights to generate interest in her upcoming album Code Red.
Akon & Matoma
After appearing on K Camp's "Comfortable" remix with 50 Cent, Akon provides more assistance, this time for DJ Matoma's "Stick Around." Meanwhile, no word on Stadium.
K Camp Feat. 50 Cent & Akon
Yesterday K Camp dropped his You Welcome mixtape, the first installment of a trilogy of mixtapes he plans to drop in the near future.
Akon Feat. Migos
Akon hasn't provided an update on the long-awaited Stadium album since last January, when he let fans preview five new records off the album exclusively on his website. He also revealed the plan for Stadium was to release it as a five-disc project, with each disc representing a different genre: Euro, Pop, Island, Urban, World.
We Takin' Over
DJ Khaled Feat. Akon, T.I., Rick Ross, Fat Joe, Birdman & Lil Wayne
Tomorrow, DJ Khaled will drop his eighth studio album I Changed A Lot. But judging from the tracklist, he hasn't changed much in his instinct to stack his albums with an almost comically thorough assemblage of the biggest names in hip hop and R&B.
The Exit Plan
Scarface Feat. Akon
Back in April, erstwhile Geto Boy Scarface announced a new album entitled Deeply Rooted, which would be his first since 2008's Emeritus. Now we've received the project's first single.
Akon Feat. OG Boo Dirty & Young Thug
Last time we heard from Akon it was on some hyper-dancey-shit, "Dutch That Shit." Akon heads a completely different (and welcomed) direction today with "NASA", a joint effort with OG Boo Dirty and Young Thug who handles the hook. Akon leaves the club/dubstep-influenced music far behind, opting instead for a Southern-sounding hip-hop record, proving just how versatile he is. Are you a fan of it?
Call Of Duty
Raekwon Feat. Akon
Over the weekend, Rae released a quick preview of this single "Call Of Duty" featuring Akon on the hook. Now the full single has been released, and it definitely has a radio-friendly potential (with Akon on the hook, how could it not?) while the Chef keeps the grimy rhymes he's known for.
