Eric aka Adonis was born to Elaine Lee & Eric LaSure Sr. He was raised in Newark, New Jersey in the South Ward Weequahic section. He began writing and rapping at the age of 12 and was inspired to rap by Tupac Shakur and his cousin Damon aka Rav. While analyzing the meaning and crafts of Hip Hop; Adonis soon realized his passion for the art and began to write and create his own music. Adonis had a very close relationship with his uncle Khalif who nicknamed him Naeem. After Khalif was murdered in the streets of Newark, Adonis was determined to make something out of his self. While in high school, Adonis kept himself focused by playing football and working. Adonis was raised in a single parent home with a mother who was very involved in Adonis and his siblings; Greg, Khalif & Aniya's academics and social welfare. Adonis's mom is a poet and had several Drama presentations with the children of Newark Public Schools. She is known for her "A Cry for Help" productions. As Adonis watched his mother and brother perform in shows he realized that the apple did not fall far from the tree. Adonis, his mother and siblings performed on "Madam Butterfly" a cable station on channel 19. Adonis then realized that he found his calling “Hip Hop music.” Adonis formed a rap group called Iced Out/Newark Natives. He later joined the "Wolf Pac" with his cousin Damon aka Rav. In the year of 2006, Adonis released his first mix tape titled “Get Your Paper.” In April 2012, Adonis released his first video on YouTube called "Ecstasy." In September 2012, Adonis released his first solo mix tape titled "If Walls Could Talk" which features several hits such as "Nasty and She Know It", "South Ward" and "All Black."
