AV is a hip hop MC. He is also known as AV The Great and Man-N-Da City a title that represents his continuous invlovement in the community. He has created, hosted, and been involved in many movements and events for issues such as education, teen violence, and voter registration. In 2008 AV created the local TV show The PR Report, the "PR" stands for politics and rhymes. He directed and hosted the show until 2010. AV whose uncle was a successful music executive grew up around radio stations and record company offices. He learned about the music business before he wrote his first rhyme at age 11. His musical influences are Jay Z, 2 pac, Nas, Ugk, Erykah Badu, The Temptations, and Nirvana. AV's dedication to his art is present in each and every stage performance. Often solo his one man, one mic shows are exciting, infectious, and always entertaining. He is currently performing tracks from his highly anticipated album Live From The Struggle. Representing his state the first single off his 2012 album Live From The Struggle is "Texas". Live From The Struggle is his 17 track album, including 3 bonus tracks. The album could have been titled No B-Side. Live From The Struggle is composed in the classic hip hop storytelling format. It's tracks all worthy of "single" status take you on a one hour and seventeen minute journey. A journey which will compel you to learn, reflect, reminisce, rock your head back and forth, throw your hands in the air and jump around, and for some simply light up blunt.
