Between 2001 and 2004, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone not sliding an extra G's into their everyday vocabulary. The run of 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Tony Yayo, Young Buck, and even The Game solidifies the group as one of hip-hop's formative crews, and many fans still look back on their overall body of work with fond reflection. Though inner turmoil has indeed plagued the group, often with 50 Cent as the centerpiece, it would appear that brand loyalty remains strong within select members of the collective.
DJ Whoo Kid took to Instagram to represent for G-Unit, posting a picture of himself and 50 Cent en route to the SiriusXM studios, where Whoo Kid holds it down with the "Whoolywood Shuffle" on Shade45. Though the flick does little in the way of teasing a reunion yet to come, it does provide a welcome dose of nostalgia for those seeking a simpler time. G-Unit freestyles kicked off by the iconic Whoo Kid tag quickly became a mixtape staple, and regardless of whatever fate befell them in later years, the Unit has earned their place in hip-hop history.
