2 Chainz compares his personal story on "Based on a T.R.U. Story" to the highs and lows of LeBron James.
2 Chainz has been making the media rounds in preparation for the release of his “Based on a T.R.U. Story” album. Last night he dropped the hot single “Birthday Song” featuring Kanye West on iTunes.
All eyes have been on the rapper since releasing Codeine Cowboy, and appeared as a feature on some hit records like G.O.O.D. Music’s “Mercy”, and Nicki Minaj’s “Beez In Da Trap”. In an interview with MTV, Tity Boi draws comparisons between expectation on him and NBA MVP LeBron James.
"Based on a T.R.U. Story can be the soundtrack for maybe what LeBron [James] went through. Being in a situation, thinking you're gonna be in a situation, striving in that situation, struggling in that situation, having faith like, 'Let me try this again, but just do it a different way'” Chainz went further with the analogy feeling his story is for a champion experiencing the highs and lows of competition, “ and then getting good results. I feel like it's a soundtrack for a championship team, a soundtrack for somebody that's winning or goin' through ups and downs."
With the hype around the album, and the stellar features, it’s likely this album does launch 2 Chainz into the next stratosphere as an elite recording artist.
