Icon's career first kicked off with open mic performances and club promotions in the underground scene of New York City. Living in the big apple since 2005 has helped influence, motivate, and mold him into a great artist. On January 11th 2011 he stated via twitter; "I've came up with my own genre of music called Concept." Which caters to his own distinct sound. His first mixtape debut was released August of 2010. Which featured the smash songs: One Night Only, Yellow & Purple, and Hold You Down.
