10-Year Old Boy Helped Rescuers Save Alan Ruschel From Tragic Plane Crash In Colombia

A ten year old Colombian boy is being hailed as a hero for help first responders locate survivors of a plane crash that was carrying 81 passengers including Brazilian soccer team Chapecoense. 

According to reports, at least 71 of the 81 passengers were killed in the crash, but a few of the Chapecoense players like defender Alan Ruschel survived thanks to the help of an unnamed child. 

The kid was apparently one of the first one the scene and after locating the few survivors he alerted rescuers to their whereabouts and even helped get Ruschel away from the wreckage.

"When we parked, a child came and told us where the wounded were located," a resident told Efe, talking of the boy. "A policeman told me, 'You're the first to arrive, put the child in the truck and go to collect the wounded'."
