Jay Rock has made quite the name for himself over the past few years with strong features alongside his peers Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Schoolboy Q. Just recently, the California native released his second full-length album 90059, so what better time to look back at some of the essential tracks he's delivered throughout his tenure, both from that album and prior.

Most obvious on the list are slam-dunk features like Kendrick's "Money Trees" or YG's "I Just Wanna Party," but some deeper cuts include Black Hippy one-offs and non-album singles. You'll be pleasantly surprised that Jay Rock has tracks going back to his start in 2003, so don't get caught up thinking this is some new cat on the scene; he's been around.

Kendrick Lamar ft Jay Rock - Money Trees

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

We're going to start this off with an instant classic: Kendrick and Jay Rock's "Money Trees." The track that had the whole world sayin' "ya bish" was nothing short of infectious.

Jay Rock - Money Trees Deuce

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

And then a couple months ago Jay chucked the "Deuce" at us. "Money Trees Deuce" might not quite have the pop appeal of part 1, but it's a great hip hop track that doesn't try too hard at all.

YG ft ScHoolboy Q & Jay Rock - I Just Wanna Party

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

YG pumps out a sound that is right in between G-funk and modern rap, and when he invites a couple Black Hippies to the party, the results are top-notch.

Jay Rock ft Kendrick Lamar & Chantal - Pay For It

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

"Pay For It" didn't find its way onto 90059, but it was a pretty great single from Jay Rock. Chantal's on the hook and King Kendrick annihilates his guest spot, but Jay Rock goes too hard on this one.

Jay Rock ft Lil Wayne and will.i.am - All My Life (In the Ghetto)

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

With a Curtis Mayfield sample and a couple of hip hop's biggest names, Jay Rock delivered a great single all the way back in 2008.

Item #6

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

Jay Rock ft Ab-Soul, ScHoolBoy Q & Kendrick Lamar - Say Wassup

A lot was different for this crew in 2011, and it's been awesome to watch it all unfold for them. Each member of Black Hippy brings something unique to the table, and "Say Wassup" is a great example of that.

Jay Rock - Parental Advisory

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

If you aren't convinced that the west coast has the game on like, this one might change your opinion. With a new twist on that funky, ol' school sound, "Parental Advisory" is a certified banger.

Jay Rock ft Kendrick Lamar - Easy Bake

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

Track two off 90059 is another crazy cut from Jay and Kendrick. "Easy Bake" was further proof that the new album was going to be awesome.

Here's the title track off the new record, complete with a short-movie of a video that demonstrates Jay's artistry.

Jay Rock - Gumbo

10 Essential Jay Rock Tracks

We love the way Jay Rock flows over a chill instrumental, and "Gumbo" is another great cut in that vain. Produced by J. LBS, this one will put the seasoning in your day.
