Sneaker collabs were plentiful in 2016 as it seemed like every other weekend there was an artist, streetwear brand, or designer collaborating on a Nike, Adidas, or Reebok sneaker.
From Kanye West's Adidas Yeezy Boosts to any one of the handful of Reebok Question collabs, there were more than enough options to choose from when reflecting on the top sneaker collabs of 2016.

Acronym x Nike Air Presto Mid

Acronym's Errolson Hugh took to Nike's simple Air Presto silhouette this year and turned it into a complex piece of footwear featuring zippers, straps and a wild neon color scheme atop a new, much higher cut Air Presto silhouette.
In addition to the neon colorway, NikeLab also released two more versions of the Acronym x Air Presto, each of which can be considered as one of the coolest sneaker collabs of the year.
Don C x Air Jordan 2 "Beach"

Don C returned to the Air Jordan 2 silhouette with another monochromatic color scheme, this time going with an earthy "Beach" vibe, rather than last year's bright blue rendition.
The familiar quilted construction and suede overlays remained true to form, making for another highly sought after collab between Don C and Jordan Brand.
BAPE x Reebok Question Mid

2016 was the 20th anniversary of Allen Iverson's Reebok Question silhouette and as such, there were plenty of Reebok Question collabs throughout the year.
As you'd expect, the BAPE x Mita sneakers x Reebok Question Mid features an all over army camo print throughout the durable ballistic nylon upper with the BAPE logo stamped on the heel in place of the traditional #3. "BAPE" branding on the lace loops is another subtle touch that celebrates the collaboration between the two brands.
Additionally, the insoles are co-branded with all three involved in the collaboration, above a graphic of Japan's Mita sneakers signature chain-link fence.
Nice Kicks x Adidas NMD

By all accounts the Adidas NMD was one of the best sneakers of the year, and that included more than a handful of collaborations including this red and black tie-dye colorway in partnership with Nice Kicks.
OVO x Air Jordan 10

Drake's "OVO" Air Jordans are always among the most sought after sneaker releases of the year and the all-black OVO Air Jordan 10 release was no different.
Fittingly, the kicks release during the NBA's All-Star weekend in Drake's hometown of Toronto which only adds to the appeal of this OVO x Air Jordan collab.

Supreme retooled the rare Nike Air Max 98, featuring four completely different colorways in a snakeskin pair, a murdered out colorway, a grey/navy look and another highlighted by their signature red hue.
Pharrell x Adidas NMD Human Race

Pharrell's "Human Race" Adidas NMDs were rolled out throughout 2016 in a number of different colorways including the light blue, black, green, red and yellow renditions that dropped in September.
Each of the kicks feature some form of text on the primeknit upper in relation to the "Human Race" moniker, as well as the unique lacing system and the colorful Adidas logo stamped on the heel.
Ronnie Fieg x Adidas Ultra Boost Mid

Adidas teamed up with Ronnie Fieg’s KITH in Aspen, Colorado where the New York-founded boutique hosted a three-month pop-up in the Rocky Mountains, highlighted by the Adidas Consortium x KITH Aspen Pack.
Among the items featured in the KITH Aspen Pack was the first ever, and much anticipated UltraBOOST Mid. The upper is cageless with a subtle taped panelling, a nod to the original adidas 3-Stripes branding. However, rather than the conventional Primeknit, the new UltraBoost Mid is constructed using a thicker space dyed yarn suitable for the winter months, fitting for the Aspen pop-up.

The next generation of Kanye West's Adidas Yeezy Boosts, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 made it's debut in 2016 and as expected it was one of the most, if not the most, sought after sneakers of the year.
Whether it was the initial "Beluga" colorway or any of the four "Core Black" renditions that recently released, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2 was undoubtedly a top collab this year.
